As you can see, most vowels are simply a combination of the 6 major vowels in the first row, which is obviously the most important part, and some special consonants.We are putting all these into English words with virtually the same sound for you to learn and remember in an easier way.

1) Vowel 1

a – as the vowel in “star” without the “r” sound

o – as the vowel in “law” without the “o” sound

e – as the vowel in “earth” without the “th” sound

i – as the vowel in “eat” without the “t” sound

u – as the vowel in “wood” without the “d” sound

ü(v) -read  “i” but need  make your mouth round

2) Vowel 2


ai – as the vowel in “ice” without the “s” sound

ei – as the vowel in ” eight “without the “t”sound

ui – combination of ‘u’ and ‘i’, the same as word “we” in English

ao – as the vowel in “out” without the “t” sound

ou – combination of ‘o’ and “u” the same as word “owe”

iu – combination of ‘i’ and ‘u’, the same as word “you” in English

ie – combination of ‘i’ and ‘e’, as the vowel in ” yes” without “s”

üe(ve) – combination of ‘ ϋ ‘ and ‘e’,

er – combination of ‘e’ and ‘r’, as the sound  ” err” in English

an – as the vowel in “aunt”:without the “t” sound

en – as the word “earn”

in – as in the word “in”

un – as in the word “one”:

ün(vn) – combination of “ü” and “n”

ang – as the word “long ” without “l” sound

eng – as the vowel in “earng”

ing-read English “in ” and slip to pinyin “an” short

ong – as the vowel in ” long” without “l” sound
